Positive: The dinner they serve is very nice. I fell sick during my stay, but it was easy to find medicine around the area. The host noticed and kindly gave me some cough medicine, which helped a bit—definitely better than nothing at all.

Positive: Very good location, with easy walk to chairlift and neighborhood amenities. Traditional Japanese breakfast and dinner meals were incredible. Shared in-house onsen bath was clean and relaxing.

Negative: We were on the only floor (4th) without a toilet, so using the restroom in middle of the night was a bit inconvenient.

Summary: Had a great stay with young kids (12 & 9 yr olds) for first family ski trip in Japan.

Positive: The owners were incredibly sweet and welcoming. Even though I don’t speak Japanese and they don’t speak English, we still managed to communicate with the help of technology. Because I was traveling alone and it was my first time in Myoko without a car, getting to the ski resorts was quite challenging—especially during the New Year period, when no taxis were available at all. The owners kindly offered to drive me back and forth so I wouldn’t get stranded at the resorts, which I was deeply grateful for. The best part was the food. Both dinner and breakfast were authentic Japanese-style meals, which are surprisingly hard to find in the Myoko area. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a truly Japanese stay in Myoko!

Positive: The food was very good and plentiful. It was close to the chairlift which was amaizng. The host was super accommodating.

Negative: This place needs actual beds in the rooms. I know it’s traditional but sleeping on a thin futon mattress on the floor is not it.

Summary: It was an experience. If the snow wasn’t great I might have felt differently.
